Addicted to Sugar and Carbs?

As much as we might hate to admit it, gradually over the past 50 years Americans have become addicted to sugar and carbs. It’s not easy to break this addiction because it has become a cultural lifestyle with temptation all around us all the time. Some people may be able to make the necessary changes by shear willpower, but others will need some help.

SUGARDOWN® can help break sugar dependency by reducing the amount of sugar and carbs your body digests from your regular daily diet. As your body adjusts to the reduced impact of carbs and sugar in your diet, you will feel less cravings, more energy and be able to make healthier dietary choices. View the brochure below to see how SUGARDOWN® can help you.

The SUGARDOWN Solution

Facts on American Health

According to a recent study by Oregon State University and the University of Mississippi only 2.7 percent of U.S. adults have the basic behavioral characteristics of a “healthy lifestyle”. These characteristics include a nutritious diet, moderate exercise, recommended body fat percentage, and not smoking.

According to health.gov, 117 million Americans have one or more preventable chronic diseases that are related to poor diet and exercise habits. The 2015-2020 Dietary Guidelines for Americans, published by DHHS and the USDA, recommends reducing added sugar intake to less than 10% of calories per day. That doesn’t just mean sugar that you add to your own food, it means all sugars that are added in food preparation and manufacturing. These guidelines also recommend reducing saturated fats to less than 10% of total calories per day as well as reducing sodium.

Large amounts of sugar, fat and salt are used in food manufacturing; convenience foods and fast food. The more processed the food is the more likely it is to have unhealthy amounts of sugar, fat and salt, and the more processed food we eat the more addicted we become to it. Also, foods that are high in carbohydrates such as breads, pastas and cereals are turned into sugar when digested, so even if these foods were “sugar-free” they would still contribute to a rise in blood glucose.

Anyone can use SUGARDOWN to reduce the impact of sugar in their diet. It is a nutritional supplement, not a drug, provides dietary fiber, and has no harmful side effects.
